How It Works
Your path, step by step.
ESICON works differently for each person who joins. Choose who you are to see your own steps.
ESICON Innovation is still being built. These pages describe how it's designed to work, and the details may change before launch.
I am…
From the day you enrol to the day you graduate, ESICON pairs your classroom with a real workplace in your field.
Step 1: Join when you enrol
Create a profile in 100 level with your institution, course and level. Confirm you're a student with your school email, or upload your student ID.
Step 2: Pick your mentor company
ESICON suggests companies, factories and chambers that match your discipline. You choose one, and they accept you.
Step 3: Learn the practical side
While you study the theory, your mentor company shows you how it works in practice through sessions, visits and small tasks.
Step 4: SIWES with people who know you
When your industrial training comes, you're placed with your mentor company or a partner, and your institution can follow your progress.
Step 5: Take on real challenges
From your middle years, apply for paid challenges alone or with a team, and build work you can show.
Step 6: Graduate with a record
Leave with a portfolio, ratings and a mentor who has watched you grow. That's a strong start for NYSC and your first job.
Post real problems, get them solved by fresh talent, and mentor the people you'll want to hire.
Step 1: Register and get verified
Create a company account. The ESICON team checks your details before your listings go live.
Step 2: Post a challenge
Describe the problem, the deliverables, the timeline and the budget in naira.
Step 3: Choose a team
Students, corps members, graduates and researchers apply. You review profiles and pick the team that fits.
Step 4: Track the work by milestone
Agree milestones up front, review each one, and pay as each is approved.
Step 5: Mentor students in your field
Accept students from 100 level as their mentor company and host their SIWES placements.
Step 6: Hire the best
Invite people whose work impressed you to talk about a job. You've already seen what they can do.
Universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and others: give every student a link to industry and see the results.
Step 1: Register your institution
Create an institution account with an official email. We confirm you're the institution you say you are.
Step 2: Add departments and coordinators
Invite SIWES coordinators and heads of department to manage their own students.
Step 3: Your students link to you
Students choose your institution when they sign up, so you see who's matched with which company.
Step 4: Follow mentorship and SIWES
See placements, mentor activity and challenge results in one dashboard.
Step 5: Report on industry links
Export summaries of industry engagement for accreditation and your own planning.
Take your research off the shelf and into use, with industry partners and student teams.
Step 1: Create a researcher profile
List your field, institution and published work.
Step 2: Share research for industry use
Explain what your findings could do for a business, with papers and video explainers.
Step 3: Answer company challenges
Apply where your expertise fits, or advise student teams working on them.
Step 4: Mentor student teams
Guide teams on method and quality, and see your ideas tested in practice.
Step 5: Build evidence of impact
Industry partnerships and results strengthen your case for grants such as TETFund.
You're already running something. ESICON puts it in front of the people who need it.
Step 1: Create your business profile
Tell us what you do, where you are and who you serve.
Step 2: Showcase your work
Add photos, documents and video links of your products and services.
Step 3: Offer solutions to real problems
Respond to challenges where your product or service is the answer.
Step 4: Bring in young talent
Take on students, interns and SIWES placements, and mentor people in your trade.
Step 5: Get discovered
Companies, institutions and NGOs find you through search and recommendations.
Make your service year count with real work that builds your record.
Step 1: Join with your service details
Add your state of deployment and your skills.
Step 2: Find challenges near you or remote
Filter by your PPA state, or work remotely on challenges anywhere in Nigeria.
Step 3: Work alongside your PPA
Challenges are short and flexible, so they fit around your primary assignment.
Step 4: Pass out with proof
Leave service with finished projects, ratings and contacts at real companies.
Finished school and service? Show employers what you can do, not just what you studied.
Step 1: Create your profile and add your CV
Upload your CV and list your skills.
Step 2: Take on paid challenges

Every finished challenge adds to a record employers can check.
Step 4: Get invited to interview
Companies who like your work can reach out directly.
