Terms of Service
Last updated 5 November 2026
The rules for using ESICON Innovation, whether you're a student, corps member, graduate, company, researcher, institution, entrepreneur or NGO. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Basmalat Nass Integrated Services Limited ([RC number, pending]), which operates ESICON Innovation. By creating an account or using the site, you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
ESICON Innovation is still being built. Some features described on the site aren't live yet, and listings marked "Sample listing" are examples, not real offers of work.
2. Who can join
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you're 16 or 17, a parent or guardian must agree to you creating an account and accepting these terms.
- If you sign up for a company, institution, NGO or other organisation, you confirm you're allowed to act for it, and these terms bind that organisation too.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date, especially your institution and NYSC status.
- Keep your password and sign-in codes to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- One account per person. Don't create accounts for other people without their permission.
- Tell us straight away at esiconinnovation@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Challenges and teams
Companies and organisations post challenges describing a problem, the deliverables, the timeline and the budget. Students, corps members and graduates apply alone or in teams, and the poster chooses who to work with.
ESICON Innovation connects the two sides and provides tools for milestones and communication. Unless a challenge says otherwise, the agreement to do the work is between the poster and the team, and we're not a party to it.
Taking part doesn't guarantee a job, an internship or credit towards SIWES or any course. Those decisions belong to employers and institutions.
5. Budgets and payments
Each challenge states its budget in naira. Budgets are agreed before work starts, and teams are paid as each agreed milestone is approved by the poster.
We don't process any payments yet. Before paid challenges open, we'll publish how payments, fees, disputes over milestones and refunds work, and update these terms.
6. Who owns the work
Each challenge brief should say who owns the results. Read it before you apply.
If a brief doesn't say, the team owns what it creates until a milestone is paid. Ownership of that milestone's deliverables then passes to the poster. The team may still describe the work and show it in portfolios, unless the brief marks it confidential.
You keep ownership of what you put in your profile. You allow us to store and display it so the platform works, and you can remove it at any time.
7. How to behave
Don't use ESICON Innovation to:
- give false information about yourself, your qualifications or your organisation
- submit work that isn't yours, or copy someone else's without credit
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone
- post fake challenges, scams or requests for upfront fees
- share confidential information a poster gave you for a challenge, outside that challenge
- scrape the site, break its security or interfere with how it works
- break any Nigerian law
8. Closing an account
You can stop using ESICON Innovation and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users at risk or exposes us to legal liability. Where it's safe to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
9. Our responsibility
We work to keep the platform available and accurate, but we provide it as it is. We don't check every challenge, application or deliverable, and we aren't responsible for the quality of work or the conduct of users towards each other.
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that Nigerian law doesn't allow us to limit.
ESICON Innovation isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NYSC, TETFund, the NUC, ITF or the United Nations unless we say so clearly.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, write to esiconinnovation@gmail.com first and we'll try to resolve it with you. If we can't, the dispute goes to the Nigerian courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We'll update this page when the terms change and show the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll email you before they take effect. If you keep using the platform after that, you accept the new terms.
